Meet Ted
Breed: German Wired Haired Pointer
Barking from: Havelock North
What's up dog?
Ted has been working with year 3 children at Havelock Primary school and also taken over the job from his brother Floyd visiting the Children's ward at Hastings Memorial Hospital.
At the Hospital, both the children and the nurses get huge joy from seeing Ted and giving him cuddles. He has the ability to calm the the room even after he has left.
On the way back to the car he also visits some people in an office and makes their day just that little bit brighter also. Ted started a "reading with children" program down at the school. This has also been a massive success allowing the children to feel more confident reading books and getting involved with other activities around the class rooms. He even goes up to the teachers staff room sometimes and enjoys a few pats along with a biscuit before starting classes.
Everywhere Ted goes, he lights up the room and when he leaves everyone with a smile on their face. We often hear "hi Ted" yelled out where ever we go. 'World famous" in Havelock North he is. An amazing dog, doing awesome work. All he asks for in return is an apple or a treat. Of course hugs are mandatory.
